I got my start in logistics by driving a tractor‑trailer after college while helping my brother launch a small trucking company in California. I ran coast-to-coast with produce and spent time working in the back office. I quickly realized the hardest part of the job wasn’t the miles—it was the fragmented information and lack of clear communication that made drivers feel ignored.

More than being away from home, what really frustrated me was showing up at a shipper late at night with bad pickup numbers, missed appointment verifications, or directions that weren’t truck‑safe. One bad detail could wipe out a full day of earnings and leave you stuck, all because someone in dispatch didn’t double-check the basics. As a driver, you felt like you were an afterthought in your own operation.

When I moved into tech, working in IT and network engineering, I saw how tools like ticketing systems, APIs, and well‑defined SOPs could bring precision and accountability to complex operations. Every time I talked to my brother, he was still on the phone nonstop—chasing brokers, drivers, and paperwork—while I was thinking, “We already know how to solve problems like this in tech.”

That’s the mindset behind Haulmate. I built it with a strong focus on process, communication, and accountability to support business owners and executives who need reliable, detail‑driven dispatch and back‑office support.
